Memories

Welcome to our Dobermann photo gallery.

The Dobermanns were a breed that we fell in love with many moons ago.  Their beautiful conformation with elegance and smooth beautiful outlines were breathtaking.  Furthermore, the characteristics of the Dobermann are something to behold. Their intelligence and natural instinct to understand when there is a real threat as oppose to no threat was unique and highly in tuned.  The Dobermann was designed to be powerful enough to take down a grown man! This requires substance and strength in body and sound in mind. Something that we were pleasantly surprised with was the love and affection they gave us.  The softer side of the Dobermann’s sweet temperament they honoured us with.

Our initiation to the breed was through our 1st companion girl "Keira" aka “Kaiela Hot Design” from Angela Brindley's "Kaiela Dobermanns".  Keira was from a long line of award winning Dobermanns with lineage would make many proud.

Our 2nd girl was “Meika” aka “Fireax Vision in Vogue” from Ella Pieton's "Fireax Dobermanns".  A kennel we admired and fell in love with for their beautiful conformation, strength, substance.  Above all, we have never met a breeder who provided so much quality foods and other health foods.  Ella was always very kind in sharing advice and guidance to ensure our fur kids are healthy on the inside and shows on the outside. To this day, after more than 16 years, we are still previleged to have Ella still share her knowledge with us. A standard to aim for in our opinion!

Keira and Meika were our teachers before we got serious.  Thanks to many breed custodians who were encouraging and provided some advice and guidance, we learned to be competitive.  This brought us to our 1st show Dobermann.

“Image” aka “Australian Champion Fireax Striking Image was shown sporadically and she did us very proud. From the Minor Puppy class, she was awarded bitch CCs and reserve CCs in a field of some lovely bitches.  Image went to Best in Specialty Open Show under Breeder Judge Mr Daniel Filipovic at 9 months of age. She amassed numerous Class in Group and Class in Show awards. Image continued to make her mark among her peers and titled at just 16 months when a puppy was not able to title until after 12 months of age.  She was twice consecutive Melbourne Royal Bitch CC and Best of Breed Runner up under an International Panel of Judges!

After having her 1 and only litter for our Breeder Ella Pieton, Image returned to the show ring and took out Best in Group 2nd under a black and tan specialist from Ireland on the Melbourne cluster of shows, the Victorian Women’s Dog Club!

A few days later at the 12th National Dobermann Specialty Championship show under a Breed Specialist Mrs Di Butler from the United Kingdom, Image was awarded the highly contested (more than 80 eligible bitches) 2nd in Open Bitch and Reserve Bitch CC!  This was only 5 months after having her litter of puppies!

There was also our stunning red boy “Judge” aka “Australian Champion Fireax Fancy A Bit” bred by Ella Pieton again of “Fireax Dobermanns”.  Judge was a slow maturer and did not start to mature until he was 2 and a half years of age.  Notwithstanding, he was awarded Multi Best Classes in Show at both All Breed Championship Shows and Specialty Shows.  The most noted was, when at the age of 7 months old in the Minor Puppy Class, Judge was awarded Reserve Dog Challenge and Best Minor Puppy in Show under Breed Specialist Mr Doug Bowe (WA) of the “Firezan Dobermanns” fame at the South Australian Dobermann Club Specialty Championship Show!

At the Royal Show level, Judge was awarded Best of Breed and Dog CC under Mr Sean Delmar from Ireland at the Royal Adelaide Show!

Judge a powerful dog that was appreciated by Specialist Judges as evidenced by another Specialty Championship success when he was awarded Dog Challenge and Best in Specialty Show 2nd at the Dobermann Club of Victoria Specialty Show under Breed Specialist Mr Hilary Partridge-Duckham from the United Kingdom!

At the All Breeds Championship level, Judge enjoyed a lot of success and won Best in Group – Group 1st on many occasions under International FCI judges.  He was also a Multi Class in Group and in Show winner.

Judge and Image only had a litter for our Breeder. We did not breed from them as we did not want their offspring ending up in the wrong hands.

Here are some of our favourite photos of our Dobermann kids doing different things.  We hope you enjoy them.
